Hinnankorotukset perustuvat välittömien kustannusten nousuun. Välittömiä kustannuksia ovat aterian valmistuksessa käytetyt raaka-aineet sekä aterian valmistus- ja tarjoilupalkat sosiaalikustannuksineen. Näiden lisäksi myös energia- ja kuljetuskustannukset ovat kasvaneet.
